Selwyn Township is bringing back its popular ReLeaf Program to help restore trees lost in the March 2025 ice storm.
Starting August 5 at 9 a.m., residents can register online to receive one of 600 free native trees, thanks to a $10,000 grant from Hydro One’s Ice Storm Recovery Fund. Five species are available, including maple and oak varieties chosen for their ability to withstand extreme weather and support local biodiversity.
Trees will be available for pickup in the fall, when planting conditions are best. Each property is eligible for one tree, and registration is open to Selwyn residents only.
The ReLeaf Program began in 2017 and has grown every year since. It remains a key part of the Township’s climate and sustainability efforts.
