Dr. Michael Eamon, former Principal of Trent University’s Catherine Parr Traill College, is the mayor-elect of Peterborough. Eamon was elected to the office of mayor on Monday, October 26th with 10,867 votes, or 36.5% of the votes cast.

To complement Peterborough’s new mayor, city council will see a radical shake up in this session. More than half of the elected councilors are new to the office, and according to unofficial results two incumbents—Otonabee Ward’s Kevin Duguay, and Ashburnham’s Gary Baldwin—have been usurped by newcomers.

The new council will be inaugurated at a meeting on Thursday, November 19th. If you would like to know more about the incoming councilors for the city and your ward, you can listen to a number of interviews will them from the campaign period which are posted to news.trentradio.ca.
