On Wednesday, August 5th, Trent University’s department of Environment and Life Sciences welcomed visitors to its second annual Farm Research Centre Open House.

In August of 2025 the university unveiled its Lightbody Drive Shed, the first of the new facilities at the site, constructed with funds from Trent’s Momentous Campaign.

This year they invited donors, local farmers, and members of the media to talk to students and faculty about the new agricultural research initiatives the farm is taking part in, and to see the yield of the new facilities for themselves.
