The Canadian government announced a $50 million investment for innovation in the country’s food sector at a press conference at Trent University’s experimental research farm on Thursday, October 15th.

Federal industry minister Mélanie Joly was joined by Peterborough MP Emma Harrison and Dana McCauley, CEO of the Canadian Food Innovation Network, to deliver the news.

The investment aims to support food innovation and to strengthen domestic food security in the face of the ongoing trade war with the United States.
