Two of three Notices of Motion moved by Monaghan Ward Councilor Matt Crowley at the general committee meeting of Peterborough City Council on Monday, August 24th were officially ratified at the August 31st meeting of city council.
Crowley described the motions as an effort to address three distinct but overlapping issues in the city. Respectively they covered the issues of housing speculation, over-crowding through by-room rentals, and by-law enforcement of municipal housing standards.
Council debated the motions at general committee on August 24th, and heard public delegations the following week.
