Fall means flu season in Ontario, and the public health authority for Peterborough and the surrounding area is gearing up for its annual response.
Lakelands Public Health confirmed its first case of influenza on September 10th 2026, a month earlier than the first case the year before.
CFFF broadcast journalist Evan Robins spoke to Lakelands Public Health’s Associate Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Maxwell Tran, about the early start to this year’s flu season, and how the public health authority is monitoring the virus’ spread.
Immunization details for both flu and COVID-19 can be found at the Lakelands Public Health website, LakelandsPH.ca, or at your local pharmacy.
