Take Cover Books (59 Hunter St E) took advantage of a nation-wide celebration of Canadian filmmaking to raise money for an organization doing street-level outreach closer to home.
The independent bookstore, owned by brothers Andrew and Sean Fitzpatrick, screened Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie for National Canadian Film Day on April 15th in collaboration with Arthur, Trent University’s independent student newspaper. All proceeds from the screening went to local charity One City Peterborough, which recently announced the suspension of their outreach programming after changes in provincial funding.
