Since its inception, the bi-annual book sale organized by the Friends of the Peterborough Public Library has raised over $800,000. Volunteers sort heaps of used books to sell for one dollar each—with all proceeds being donated to the Library and its programming. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Friends of the Library book sale.

CFFF spoke with Friends of the Library Co-Chair Gerry McBride and other volunteers about their roles in the event and what it means to them.
