With the fall term underway, Trent University students are being introduced to the wide range of services offered through the university’s library and archives.

Student Experience and Outreach Librarian Alison Ridgway says the library is not only a place for study but also a hub for research support, events, and technology.

Students can book one-on-one appointments with librarians for help finding and evaluating sources, borrow equipment such as cameras and chargers, and explore spaces like the Critical Making Studio, which includes 3D printers and a recording booth.

The library also works with Student Accessibility Services to provide resources such as accessible digital texts and adaptive study spaces.

Ridgway emphasizes that many students discover these supports late in their degree and encourages new students to ask for help early.
