The public health authority for Peterborough and the surrounding region is warning residents to avoid contact with floodwaters and exercise caution in response to flood conditions.

Several days of heavy rainfall have many parts of Lakelands Public Health’s service area under flood warning. Lakelands Public Health warns that floodwaters may contain detritus and bacteria, and increase likelihood of longer-term health risks such as mold exposure.
