The Ontario New Democratic Party are in the riding of Peterborough–Kawartha this week from October 14th-16th for a party caucus retreat.
ONDP Leader Marit Stiles says it’s an opportunity for her caucus to put their heads together and establish priorities for when the legislature returns at the end of October.
Queen’s Park has been on a 21-week summer break since the start of June, after having sat only 30 days following another extended winter recess. They are expected to return to the legislature on October 27th, the day after Ontario municipal elections.
The party is also trying to put itself in a strong position for an eventual provincial election, and this will be another priority of the three-day caucus retreat.
